The accelerator pedal is a control pedal that controls the acceleration of the car. Whether it is a left-hand drive or a right-hand drive, it is installed on the right side, that is, you'd better step on it with your right foot. It should be pointed out that for gasoline vehicles, the accelerator pedal does not control the "fuel volume", but adjusts the engine's intake air volume by controlling the opening of the engine throttle, so as to achieve the purpose of adjusting the engine power output. However, for diesel vehicles, the accelerator pedal control is indeed the fuel supply of the fuel pump, and it is truly a "throttle". Of course, the above statement is only limited to the age of mechanical throttle. Today, the engine has entered the age of electronic throttle, and there is no mechanical connection between the accelerator pedal and the throttle or the fuel pump. In other words, the accelerator pedal is more appropriately called the accelerator pedal, because it is only responsible for sending the driver's acceleration intention to the computer in the form of electrical signals.
